IELTS is world’s most popular English language test to help you live, study and work around the world where English is the mode of communication. Most of the professional registration bodies and employers rely on IELTS as evidence of English language proficiency.
IELTS scores are accepted by more than 10,000 organizations worldwide that includes universities, colleges, governments and employers and migration authorities.
They are General IELTS, that focuses on training with basic survival skills related to social and workplace culture. Academic IELTS is for people who wish to study at undergraduate/postgraduate level or need professional registration. It assesses if the candidate is ready to begin studying training or working.

The test lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes.
It uses a nine-band scale to identify levels of proficiency, from non-user (band score 1) to expert (band score 9).You receive individual band scores for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking and an Overall Band Score on a band scale from one to nine.'
There is no pass or fail in IELTS. Scores are graded on the 9-band system. Each educational institution or organisation sets its own level of IELTS scores to meet its individual requirements.

REGISTRATION AND PREPARING FOR IELTS
More than 1,100 test centers around the world conduct IELTS. Most test centers are run by the British Council, IELTS Australia, or universities and language academies. Some testing centres also offer off-site testing for large groups by prior arrangement with IELTS.

An additional amount of non-refundable fee is charged, form has to be filled up at least six weeks min prior, and deposited. Its approval is solely on discretion of the IELTS authorities.
No. IELTS papers and materials are confidential and under no circumstances are handed out to candidates
If you are proficient in English, training may not be required. It is not mandatory, the British Council provides study material as well as there are resources available online

AFTER EXAMS AND RESULTS
An IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) is valid for two (2) years.
Yes, a candidate may re appear for the IELTS test at any time after re-registering towards the same.
The candidate is deemed an absentee and a refund of paid fee towards the test doesn’t apply. In very rare cases, it may be considered if the relevance of reason prevails and administrative procedures allow the exception.
Yes, if it is done within six weeks of the test date. The candidate can choose which modules are be re-marked, fill up an application form and submit/courier the same, along with the fee of INR 9,000/- The original Score Result has to be submitted along with the documents.
If the result is changed, the fee is refunded
There is a provision for forwarding a TRF to an institution/organization on behalf of the candidate on request and charges levied.
Your Test Report Form will be available 13 days after you complete the test. The results will be available to be viewed online too for 28 days.
